By its nature, Westchester Region ACT-SO provides the opportunity for significant personal involvement by sponsors and donors. In addition to providing funds and in-kind gifts, a corporate sponsor could, for instance, recruit coaches and volunteers from among its workforce. Box 606<br>Rye, New York, 10580<br>914-391-5435<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Westchester Region ACT-SO is a not-for-profit organization, having an IRS 501(C)(3) tax exempt designation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<form action=\"https:\/\/www.paypal.com\/cgi-bin\/webscr\" method=\"post\"><\/form>\n<div class=\"su-row\">\n<div class=\"su-column su-column-size-1-2\">\n<div class=\"su-column-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n<hr>\n<p>Today, Westchester Region ACT-SO is under-funded and operated entirely by volunteers. In the first instance, the program requires money to run simply as it does today. Beyond this need, additional funds would permit the employment of a full time professional staff, which would improve every aspect of Westchester Region ACT-SO. Specifically, each high school in the city could be monitored and recruitment of coaches and judges could be enhanced. Additionally, the organization might be in a position to provide other services, such as scholarship guidance and job referral for participants.America\u2019s competitiveness and economic stability in the 21st century depend upon improving the quality of education and employment potential of every sector of our population; Westchester County cannot afford to throw away another generation of African-American youth.<\/p>\n<p>Money invested in ACT-SO does triple duty by:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">(i) positively influencing the lives of its participants;<br data-rich-text-line-break=\"true\">(ii) \u201cchanging the culture\u201d of the communities from which those participants come; and<br data-rich-text-line-break=\"true\">(iii) enhancing the quality of Westchester County\u2019s 21st century workforce.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"su-column su-column-size-1-2\">\n<div class=\"su-column-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">\n<div id=\"give-form-774-wrap\" class=\"give-form-wrap give-display-onpage\">ACT-SO operates under the administrative aegis of the NAACP, which serves as the fiscal conduit to the local ACT-SO programs but does not provide funding. However, it provides technical assistance and program guidelines; and, hosts the national \u201cOlympics of the Mind\u201d at the annual NAACP convention. While Westchester Region ACT-SO does great work with its present resources, it could do even more with your help.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><strong data-rich-text-format-boundary=\"true\"><strong data-rich-text-format-boundary=\"true\">Your contribution to Westchester Region ACT-SO is 100% tax deductible and goes to direct program support.
